An Afternoon Tea In My Garden!

We baked our little socks off today....but not before we gobbled up a late breakfast of poached eggs, tomato and sourdough. Coupled with endless chatter, shared laughter and deep discussions between Michelle and I, on the journey of writing recipes and books.
What followed was the swift rolling of pastry for the Eccles Cakes, flour stuck to our faces. Whipping up of sponge cakes, ovens bursting with activity. The making of chocolate wheaty biscuits from scratch, whilst the smell of Spanish Tortilla bubbling away on the stove filled the room.
It was a happy day, a celebration kind of day, a delicious day.
We chose to beat the impending weather above and went ahead and set up in the front garden, beautiful friend Silvia weaved her magic and had the garden as pretty as a picture in record time. Complete with potted colour, succulents, handmade bunting and floral delights.
Before we knew it there were guests arriving, tea cups clinking, cake plates overflowing and the crowd was gathered, to hear stories of a gracious woman who dared to step into her dream, in a little farmhouse in Tasmania.
Inspiring, insightful, courageous and grateful Michelle Crawford shared her ten year journey in Tasmania, which has brought her to 'A Table in the Orchard' - it was my privilege to host the afternoon.
Many thanks to those who joined us and left with a signed copy of Michelle's warm and vibrant book, a memoir with recipes. For those who just couldn't get here - I hope these images will mean you can share in the experience too.
ps. I've still got half a dozen copies of the book left for sale or you can grab a copy of 'A Table in the Orchard' at any good book store.
