Celebrating Mum!

Today was a special day, a significant moment in the life of our family, a day to celebrate mum!
We gathered together as a family to eat, drink and be merry, at a shared table for her 80th birthday day.

Mum is not overly keen on people knowing she is 'that old', so much so that she wanted to pop the balloon that screamed '80' at the top of the table cluster!
However, to many eighty years of living is something very wonderful, an achievement, a privilege and definitely an opportunity, to reflect and celebrate, what a generous and courageous life mum has lived and is very much still living!
Surrounded my her four children and their wonderful spouses, her thirteen grandchildren, a backdrop of gold balloons and pretty flowers, bellies filled with Italian pasta and pizza, fine wine and lemon drizzle cake, we shared much laughter and tender words.
We captured a moment, we made memories and in that moment I think mum was temporarily happy to be 80!

We celebrated with a delightful lunch at Cavallino Restaurant
