NAKED FOOD ON TOUR

After an encouraging five week pre-order period, in which we sold over 200 copies of my cookbook NAKED FOOD, I am now on the road for the next three months, anywhere and everywhere promoting the cookbook. Most of our events will be Sydney based, with some delightful visits also planned to NSW coastal and regional areas.

So last week we began, we loaded up the car with six dozen copies of the book, two dozen bottles of Rosnay Organic Sparkling Chardonnay, two dozen bottles of Sparkling water, a crate of kitchen equipment and some organic pumpkin! Oh and I fitted in most of the family too!

After a full day's driving Wednesday, we arrived at Lennox Head on the far NSW North Coast, where we have based ourselves for a week, whilst we promote the cookbook in the NSW North Coast and Northern Rivers region.

It was a lovely spring visit to Bryon Bay Farmers' Market on Thursday morning, firstly to show some of the local growers my new cookbook and secondly to purchase some fresh produce for the two cooking demonstrations and book signing events, we were to do over the weekend. It was also great to see Bob & Liz Gray at the markets again, they are organic ginger farmers from Goonengerry and I was able to show them the photo of Bob that features in NAKED FOOD.

On Friday afternoon we headed to the regional town of Casino, to do an evening event in the home of lovely friends Kelvin & Priscilla.

These beautiful people opened their home and along with another dear friend Renate, organised for a crowd to come along, to see me cook from recipes in the cookbook, inspiring them to cook and eat well. Plus give them an exclusive chance to meet the author and get a signed copy of NAKED FOOD. It was a lot of fun with these lovely, lively, country folk.

On Saturday morning we enjoyed a visit to Bangalow Farmers' Market to buy some more fresh local produce, direct from the growers.
Then Sunday morning we travelled further up the NSW North Coast to the scenic coastal town of Kingscliff, where we did an afternoon demonstration and book signing at Michael and Andy's lovely home.
A diverse and colourful crowd gathered, Kingscliff locals as well as friends from the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Hamilton Island and even Bowral! Another fun get together, more books sold and wonderful new connections made.

Later this week we head back home to Sydney for the official launch of the cookbook. There will be two events one in the Inner City at Agape Organic Restaurant & Bar for family, close friends , media & industry (invite only) and then another casual local launch in our garden on Sunday 14th October 2012 from 2pm - 5pm.
Details here:

This will be a lovely afternoon in our garden on Sydney's Northern Beaches, a chance to meet the author (me), buy the book or pick up your pre-ordered copy and have it signed. This afternoon will be open to the public and all are welcome, please email jane@janecooks.com.au to rsvp and receive exact address details. Special guest and friend 'The Veggie Lady' will be there at 3pm to share some tips on 'Backyard Veggies' and then I'll be chatting about the journey of the cookbook at 3.30pm. Love to see you there!
