Naked Food in Peppermint Mag!

Whilst holidaying in Melbourne in January this year, our gorgeous, fashion loving, teenage daughter, Molly, discovered a lovely store in the CBD called Magnation, where she bought her first copy of Peppermint Magazine. It was the beginning of a new favourite mag for her!
After sneaking more than a peek at Molly's copy of Peppermint mag, the look, the touch, the design, the variety of info, regular features and stories of real people, drew me in. I discovered Peppermint really is Style - Sustainability - Substance and I too am now a fan of this delightful mag.

'Peppermint is the green fashion and lifestyle magazine, celebrating eco and ethical style with a fun, fresh, intelligent and positive spin. It was created for the rapidly-growing number of consumers who appreciate good design, fashion and creativity, but also care about social and environmental issues and where their clothing comes from. Promoting individuality, DIY personal style, respect and ‘slow fashion’, Peppermint encourages readers to get off the trend mill by showcasing the best in eco and handmade design from Australia and the rest of the world. Fashion, accessories, natural beauty, art, film, design, social issues, lifestyle and culture: if it’s real thought and creativity you’re after, then you can bet Peppermint has got it covered. With inspiring, informative editorials and in-depth, behind-the-scenes features on the fashion industry and social issues, Peppermint is at once informative and inspirational, high-end and handcrafted, cutting-edge and old-fashioned… Because sometimes you have to look behind you to learn the way forward.'

At the Sustainable Expo in Sydney this year, I was fortunate to meet the Founder/ Publisher/Editor/Designer of Peppermint mag, the lovely Kelley Sheenan. I have always said that food is so much like fashion and although this mag majors on fashion, I love the way that stories of food, producers and sustainable foodie people, are woven throughout the fabric of Peppermint mag. It was Molly who suggested that it would be a great place to possibly profile my new cookbook Naked Food. Whilst chatting with Kelley at the expo about her passion for the mag and her hard working journey to see it birthed and established in the market place, I too suggested that she might like to review Naked Food in Peppermint mag in the future.
Molly now has a subscription to Peppermint and at the end of last week the Summer Edition 2012 of this quarterly mag, arrived at our place in the mail. We were both sooooo delighted to see, that a generous review of Naked Food by Carody Culver had been included in the ENTERTAINMINT/Recommended Reading Section of the mag.

With extravagant praise within the review such as this: 'With its sumptuous photography and important culinary message, Naked Food is one of the best Australian cookbooks to hit the shelves this year, and an appetite-stoking incentive to go organic.' I was most grateful.
Thanks Carody and Shelley for including Naked Food in the Summer Edition of your amazing Peppermint Mag and thanks Molly for the idea!
