Bondi Picnic Cafe at Bondi Beach

Every now and then I find a delightful little cafe, hidden away from the main drag, reasonably priced, where the food, service and decor are consistently good. Bondi Picnic, Bondi, is all of the above and more, set back a couple of blocks from Bondi Beach, on a sunny corner in Hall Street, they are open Monday to Sunday 7am - 4pm, for breakfast, late breakfast and lunch from 12 noon.
The service is happy and friendly, with staff prepared to go the extra mile, accommodating requests or variables to the written menu, with a willing yes everytime, which is just so refreshing. There is an obvious love and passion for all that is produced and served here.
We were greeted by the lovely Amy, who served us on a recent visit for lunch with my darling mum, it was a bitterly cold winter's day.

Thankfully we found a cosy table in the back corner, mum just loved the place and this was to my relief, as trust me when I tell you, it doesn't take long to read my mum's facial expression, as to whether she is enjoying herself or NOT!

Great coffee to start with (Little Marionette, cold drip and rotating single origins) not that I am a coffee gal but mum is, as well as delicious sweet stuff, which greets you at the front counter luring you inside. (a takeaway chocolate brownie, purchased on our way out did not disappoint!)

I ordered the day's special, Spicy Tomato and Basil soup, served with wholemeal sour dough and it was simply done, delish and warmed the bones on such a wintery day.

Mum decided on the open sandwich, cheese, rocket and pickles, with ham on sourdough and it was a really good...such a tasty combination, and I know because I had more than a generous taste.

Showcasing local produce and artisan creations throughtout their solid menu, it was even more impressive to me, to be offered a jar of locally made 'The Jammery' piccadilly to take home, just because we had both enjoyed it so much on mum's lunch choice. ( big thanks Amy)
Whether you are looking for a hearty breakie, a casual coffee or a cosy lunch, Bondi Picnic are making it a pleasure to eat well and feel at home in Bondi.
